Addiction counsellor and Psychotherapist

Services offered: Psychotherapy

Additional Info: Sharon’s services are offered Friday’s only and Online weekly.

I am a fully accredited psychotherapist and counsellor with Addiction Counsellors of

Ireland (ACI) and have over eight years' experience working in the fields of mental

health and addiction. I provide a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental

therapeutic space where individuals can explore the challenges they are facing and

work towards meaningful, lasting change.

I hold a Master of Science (MSc) in Addiction Recovery from Trinity College

Dublin and a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Counselling with Addiction Studies from

Munster Technological University. My work is grounded in both evidence-based

practice and extensive clinical experience.

While I specialise in addiction and recovery, I also support clients experiencing a

wide range of mental health difficulties, including anxiety, depression, stress, trauma,

low self-esteem, grief, and relationship challenges. I understand that every person's

story is unique, and I tailor therapy to meet each client's individual needs, goals, and

circumstances.

My therapeutic approach integrates Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural

Therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). This integrative

approach enables me to help clients gain insight into their experiences,

develop practical coping strategies, strengthen motivation for change, and build

resilience in a supportive and collaborative environment.

Professionally, I have facilitated therapeutic groups at The Rutland Centre and

currently work with Cuan Mhuire, supporting individuals within a

residential addiction treatment setting. Alongside my professional experience, I

bring lived experience of addiction and recovery, providing an additional depth of

understanding that informs my practice with empathy, authenticity, and hope.

I believe that recovery and personal growth are possible for everyone. Whether you

are struggling with addiction, emotional distress, or other mental health challenges, I

offer a safe, confidential, and respectful space where we can work together to help

you achieve your goals and improve your wellbeing.
