ISO Certification Without System Chaos: How NetAachen Unites Resource and Visitor Management in One System with anny
5 min.
When new certifications call for new system landscapes
For many companies, ISO 27001 certification means new requirements, new documentation obligations, and new software. As part of this certification, NetAachen faced the challenge of mapping its visitor registration in a structured and traceable way. Workstations and parking spaces were already bookable digitally. The obvious solution was a separate visitor management tool. But that was exactly what NetAachen wanted to avoid.
"It was important to us not to use multiple solutions, but rather an all-in-one solution," says Daniel Knuppertz, IT Manager at NetAachen.
Instead of introducing another standalone solution, NetAachen deliberately opted for a holistic approach: a booking system that combines resource management and visitor management.
The company NetAachen
NetAachen is a provider of internet, communications, and IT services in the Aachen-Düren-Heinsberg region and the Eifel. As a regionally rooted IT company with around 130 employees, NetAachen places great value on a secure and integrated IT landscape that reliably supports day-to-day work. Since early 2025, the company has been using the anny booking system at two locations. Daniel Knuppertz supports technical systems from selection through implementation. The same applies to the rollout of anny.
ISO-compliant visitor registration without additional software
NetAachen’s starting point was clear: To ensure ISO-compliant visitor registration, a system had to be implemented. However, more interfaces and the added maintenance effort of an additional system were not an option. What was needed was a holistic solution that:
Covers all use cases, from managing parking spaces and workstations to visitor registration
Consolidates all processes and makes them manageable
Integrates seamlessly into the existing system landscape
Connecting to the central identity platform was an essential prerequisite for managing sign-in, permissions, and booking rights consistently.
NetAachen relies on a centralized booking system
With anny, NetAachen found exactly the right solution: a central software platform that brings together all resources and processes. Today, the company can book not only workspaces, parking spaces and pool vehicles, but also digitally map the complete visitor management process, including a terminal solution. anny has become an integral part of everyday work for NetAachen employees:
In the morning, a parking space and a workspace are booked
For external appointments, a pool vehicle is reserved
Guests are registered and welcomed via anny
From resource booking to on-site check-in, all processes work together seamlessly. Bookings are made flexibly via smartphone, through the Microsoft Teams integration or in the web interface. NetAachen employees use anny exactly where they already work.
Smart Availability: Connect Resources Intelligently
With the Smart Availability feature, multiple resources in anny can be linked to one another, so they do not have to be selected individually during the booking process. Whether it’s a parking space with a workspace, a vehicle with an appointment, or a visitor with predefined security requirements: anny enables tailored scenarios without sacrificing clarity. Integration with NetAachen’s central identity platform also now ensures smooth, secure user management, Daniel Knuppertz continues:
“What we especially appreciate about anny is the flexibility with which we can link resources and services together.”
High booking utilization and transparent resource management with anny
anny is an integral part of daily work at NetAachen. This is especially evident in the high booking utilization of resources.
This becomes especially clear when it comes to parking spaces. At NetAachen, parking areas are among the most in-demand resources. With utilization data in the dashboard, anny creates transparency. This enables NetAachen to precisely analyze which resources are utilized to what extent and manage available capacity according to demand.

High adoption thanks to easy onboarding and seamless integration
The high level of usage also reflects strong internal adoption. Even before the introduction of anny, NetAachen employees were already familiar with booking their workspaces in a booking system.
The structured rollout of anny helped drive rapid adoption. For the rollout, NetAachen used the provided training and onboarding videos, which made it easier for employees to get started. During the technical implementation, especially the connection to the central identity platform, the provided Help Center articles from anny also offered support. Today, using anny comes naturally—whether for booking parking spaces, workspaces, or digitally registering visitors. The immediate value in day-to-day work ensures that anny is not seen as an additional system, but as a functional part of NetAachen.
From Certification Project to Sustainable Solution: Turning ISO Requirements into an Opportunity for Clearer Processes
For NetAachen, ISO certification did not mean additional system sprawl, but rather an evolution of their organization and processes. Instead of introducing parallel tools, anny created a central place that brings together resource management and visitor registration.
Today, employees benefit from clearly structured booking processes and a solution that integrates seamlessly into their day-to-day work.
When asked what he would advise companies considering introducing anny as a booking system, Daniel Knuppertz answers clearly: „Absolutely do it."
