Terms, canceling, direct debit. The short version.
General information, not legal advice.
Terms: In Germany, a consumer membership may have a first term of at most two years. After that it renews indefinitely and can be canceled with at most one month’s notice (§ 309 no. 9 BGB). In anny you set the minimum term and notice period per plan.
Canceling online: German law requires a cancellation button for subscriptions sold online (§ 312k BGB). anny has it built in: members cancel in their account, or withdraw within the withdrawal period with an automatic refund.
SEPA direct debit: Customers can reverse an authorized debit for up to eight weeks. Return-debit fees may only cover the actual damage.

Questions about memberships
What is a booking system for memberships?
A booking system where customers don’t just book once, they become members. In anny you sell memberships on your booking page. Member prices, credits and members-only areas apply automatically, and every renewal is billed automatically.
Which terms and notice periods can I set?
In anny you set the billing interval, minimum term, notice period and withdrawal period per plan, including fixed terms without renewal. anny works out the earliest cancellation date.
Can members cancel online?
Yes. anny includes the cancellation button required by German law (§ 312k BGB): members cancel in their account, respecting your notice period. Within the withdrawal period they can withdraw instead, and anny refunds automatically.
Can I pause a membership?
Yes, in anny any time, for example for a move, an injury or the holidays. Nothing is billed and no credits are added during the pause.
Is there an app for members?
Yes. Members use the anny app for iOS and Android: membership, bookings, credits and invoices in one place. The same app works for every business that uses anny.
How are membership fees collected?
anny invoices every renewal and charges it by card, SEPA direct debit or PayPal. Without a saved payment method, you bill by invoice.
What happens if a payment fails?
Your team is notified, and anny sends the member reminders after 7, 14 and 21 days. The member can update the payment method in their account.
What are credits?
A plan in anny can include a number of bookings per period, like 8 sessions a month. Each booking draws from it.
Can members switch plans?
Yes, in their account, if you allow switching in the plan group. On an upgrade anny credits the remaining value.
Which plan includes memberships?
You can sell memberships on every anny plan, including the free Starter plan, once online payments are switched on. Online payments cost from 5% + 40 cents each, less at higher volume.
